If you keep being told everything looks “normal” while your body is very clearly telling you otherwise, I’m firmly on team keep-fcking- asking-questions.
Because “normal bloods” doesn't mean 'we thoroughly investigated your symptoms'
And the answer also isn't to blame every bloody weird symptom on oestrogen and just crack on.
Your hormones are shifting.
Of course they matter.
This changes the landscape and has a knock on effect for literally everything going on in your body
But, they’re part of a MUCH bigger bloody picture.
So depending on your symptoms, it's usually worth getting that whole picture....
Have your vitamin and mineral deficiencies been checked.... full iron panel.... MMA.... B12.... folate.... vitamin D
What about your lipids (are your triglycerides creeping up above 1.... this can be a sign of insulin resistance)
Does your thyroid deserve a closer look? (this is usually the ultimate fobb-off)
What about blood sugar and fasting insulin levels? How are these playing into your fatigue, night sweats and 3am wake-ups??
And then there’s the stuff that doesn't fit neatly onto a standard blood panel. Stress. Sleep. Gut health. How well you're actually fuelling yourself.
Not because every woman needs every test going.
But because your symptoms give us clues about what’s going on under the hood and where it’s worth looking next.
And that is a much more useful conversation than “everything looks normal, off you pop.”
If you’re fed up with guessing and want personalised support looking at your symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle and the bigger picture, I’d love to help you with this.
